OUR STUDIO

Women Owned, Women Operated

Opal Nail Studio is a fresh & modern take on nail salon culture. We work hard to create and maintain a healthy work environment by using clean, non-toxic products & polishes. We keep the air quality in our studio safe & breathable by opting out of any acrylic, SNS or dip options.

Formerly known as Juniper Natural Nails, our little studio saw a change of hands amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic, and re-opened in November of 2020 as Opal Nail Studio. We are now owned & operated by some of the very women who have worked in our West Seattle studio for years.

The name “Opal” is inspired by the ancient gemstone — a stone that has been the muse of artists and other creatives since the beginning of time. Aesthetically comparable to fireworks or galaxies, Opal possesses a kaleidoscope of vibrant colors. The meaning and beauty behind this stone feels like the perfect representation of the beauty and versatility you’ll find in our eclectic nail team at the Studio.

What you can expect at your appointment

ARRIVING FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT

Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your service. You may wait in your car or socially distanced outside of the salon until one of our team members notifies you and is ready to begin our intake process.

GEL REMOVAL & REMOVAL OF TOXIC MATERIALS

Unfortunately, we will have to turn you away WITHOUT A REFUND if you arrive at your appointment with acrylic, dip acrylic powder, SNS or hard gels on. We cannot stress enough that we do not offer removal of these in order to maintain a non-toxic environment for all.

Gentle soft gel removal is NOT included in any of our services. You must add a soft gel removal service IN ADDITION to any other services booked. Your service will be shortened to accommodate the gel removal if not added on to your appointment.
Please check your booking thoroughly to be sure you have scheduled the appropriate services.

NO DISPOSABLE PEDICURE SLIPPERS

Did you know it takes 100+ years for single use plastic pedicure slippers to break down? That is a lot of unnecessary plastic packaging and other toxic fillers polluting our beautiful planet! This is the reason we ask that you please bring your own flip flops or sandals to all pedicure services to aid in reducing our carbon footprint. We no longer carry disposable pedicure slippers of any kind.

POLISHES

While the array of polish lines are free of most major toxic ingredients found in other nail polish, they are not completely chemical free. In order for polish to stick to nails and dry it does require specific chemical ingredients. Until a product exists that is 100% chemical free, Opal Nail Studio will continue to provide the cleanest and safest products possible.
We ask that you do not bring any brand of polish that we do not already carry into the Studio to help maintain the cleanest air quality possible.
